Discover Corsica

The Island of Beauty packs an astonishing variety of landscapes into 8,700 km². In the north-west, Cap Corse forms a wild 40 km peninsula dotted with Genoese watchtowers and villages like Centuri or Erbalunga. In the north, the Balagne aligns its hilltop villages (Pigna, Sant'Antonino, Speloncato) on maquis-covered hills, behind the beaches of L'Île-Rousse and Calvi. In the west, the Calanques de Piana coast (UNESCO) carves red granite cliffs plunging into turquoise sea, continued by the Scandola reserve, World Heritage-listed for its marine biodiversity. In the south, Bonifacio raises its citadel on white limestone cliffs facing Sardinia. Inland, the GR20, a legendary 180 km traverse, links Calenzana to Conca across the island's highest peaks (Monte Cinto, 2,706 m). The Niolo and Tavignano valleys keep their traditional character intact, with their shepherds, semi-wild pigs and characterful charcuterie (lonzu, coppa, figatellu). Corsica also produces its own wines (Patrimonio in red, Vermentino in white, Sciaccarello in rosé), Brocciu (the only AOP cheese in the world made from whey), AOP clementines, AOP honey and aged ewe's cheeses (Niolu, Venachese, Bastelicaccia). On the ground: 1,000 km of coastline, twisting mountain roads, and a condensed tourist season from May to October.
