French Coastline Road Trip
From the Opal Coast to the Basque Coast, a road trip along France's most beautiful shores.
Three weeks to circle France's coastlines, from the Channel to the Atlantic by way of Brittany. The route links ten emblematic sites: the white cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez facing England, the arches of Étretat, the corsair city of Saint-Malo, the Quiberon peninsula, the Île de Ré and Arcachon Bay crowned by the Pilat dune. This is a grand seaside road trip of tides, lighthouses and seafood, where every region brings its own weather and character. Watch the tide tables for Saint-Malo and Mont-Saint-Michel, and book early in summer along the Breton and Atlantic coasts, which fill up fast. Easily split into several trips if three weeks in one go is too much.
