Ten days by campervan to circle Corsica, from Bastia to Ajaccio. The route follows the wild Cap Corse, Saint-Florent and its gulf, Calvi and its citadel, then the Piana calanques with their red rocks plunging into the sea. It's a distillation of the Isle of Beauty: turquoise coves, mountain passes and perched villages. The coastal roads are stunning but narrow and winding — a campervan needs care here and generous journey times. Check the permitted aires, which are regulated in Corsica. May-June and September offer an already-warm sea without the summer saturation; book the ferry well ahead.
