Dry and sweet white from the Pyrenean foothills.

The wine

In the south-west, facing the Pyrenees, Jurançon is one of France's oldest vineyards. Native grapes — gros manseng, petit manseng, courbu — produce unique whites, dry or sweet (late-harvested petit manseng on the vine). The sweet style, historic and iconic, combines high residual sugar with bracing acidity that keeps it lively and never heavy, with exotic fruit, honey, orange peel and candied pineapple. The dry brings tension and freshness, with citrus and white flowers. Sweet Jurançons can age thirty years. Sweet Jurançon is a perfect match for Basque foie gras, fruit desserts and Pyrenean ewe's cheeses (Ossau-Iraty).
