Velomaritime: Pink Granite Coast and Abers

Four days on La Velomaritime, the French section of EuroVelo 4, between Saint-Brieuc and Roscoff. The route starts in the bay of Saint-Brieuc and its nature reserve, reaches Paimpol where boats leave for Brehat, then Perros-Guirec and the Pink Granite Coast, with the customs officers' path and the Ploumanac'h boulder chaos, whose sea-sculpted blocks are unique in Europe. Lannion and its half-timbered houses, Morlaix and its monumental viaduct, and finally Roscoff with its exotic garden close the section. The terrain is far hillier than expected: the coastal valleys impose repeated short, steep climbs. The prevailing westerly favours the opposite direction, Roscoff to Saint-Brieuc, if you want an easier ride.
