Customs Officers Path: GR34 in Brittany
The finest stages of the GR34 along the Breton coastline, past pink granite cliffs, wild beaches, and fishing harbours.
Five days on the Customs Officers' Path (GR34), Brittany's legendary coastal trail. The route links Cancale and its oyster beds, corsair Saint-Malo, wild Cap Fréhel and the Pink Granite Coast at Perros-Guirec. It's a balcony walk over the Channel, among cliffs, coves, lighthouses and wind-swept moors. Created in the 18th century to track smugglers, the path today offers some of Brittany's finest scenery. Watch the tide tables, which transform the views, and pack a windbreaker in any season. Spring and summer lengthen the days; some sections are exposed and slippery, so choose your footwear accordingly.
