Pyrenees East to West by Campervan
14 days from Perpignan to Biarritz across the entire Pyrenean chain. Dizzying mountain passes, glacial cirques and high-altitude campervan areas.
Fourteen days by campervan crossing the Pyrenees from east to west, from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic. The route climbs from Perpignan to Villefranche-de-Conflent, fortified by Vauban, Font-Romeu at altitude, Ax-les-Thermes and Foix, along passes and valleys. It's a high-mountain journey of glacial lakes, cirques, stone villages and legendary Tour de France climbs. The high roads call for caution and planning: some passes close out of season, and a campervan needs care in the hairpins. Summer is the only truly safe window for the high passes. Pack warm clothes — nights are cool even in July — and good walking shoes.
