Seven days by campervan along the D-Day beaches, from Mont-Saint-Michel to Honfleur. The route links Mont-Saint-Michel, Granville and Christian Dior's birthplace, Sainte-Mere-Eglise, the first village liberated on 6 June 1944 with its paratrooper hanging from the church spire and its Airborne museum, Utah Beach and the Pointe du Hoc whose bomb craters remain intact, Omaha Beach and the American cemetery at Colleville with its 9,387 graves, Bayeux and its eleventh-century tapestry, Arromanches and the remains of the Mulberry artificial harbour still visible at low tide, and finally Honfleur. The D-Day sites are saturated around 6 June and on decade anniversaries. Colleville cemetery requires appropriate dress and closes in the late afternoon.
