GT20: Cycling Across Corsica

From Bastia to Bonifacio, the GT20 crosses Corsica from north to south through the island's most spectacular mountain passes.

Seven days crossing Corsica by bike from Bastia to Bonifacio, over the island's mountainous spine. The route starts at Bastia's old port and its Genoese citadel, reaches Corte, the former capital with its perched citadel and the Restonica gorges, then the Col de Bavella at 1,218 metres, ringed by pink granite needles and laricio pines, Porto-Vecchio and the coves of Palombaggia, Sartene and its granite lanes, and finally Bonifacio and its white cliffs facing Sardinia. This is a demanding ride: Corsica has no flat ground, and the passes come one after another at severe gradients in heat that builds from June. Ride in spring or September, and set out before seven in summer.
